Count Your Blessings

Are you heavy laden with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings; every doubt will fly
And you will keep singing as the days go by

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, I find myself singing, “Thank You, Lord, For Your Blessings On Me,” “So Much to Thank Him For,” and “I Thank My Savior For It All.” But I realize that, many times, the cares of life can overwhelm and keep some from seeing those blessings. I would like to encourage you today to praise God anyway.

Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Even the things that are frustrating and heartbreaking right now may turn out to be a blessing. It may just take a while before you see it.

I love this time of year. From now through the end of 2015, I will be reflecting: thanking God for His many blessings and asking Him for wisdom for this coming year.

One thing I continue to be thankful for is the ability to write in order to encourage God’s people to keep seeking Him with their whole heart. If there is any part of your life that you have not surrendered to God, I hope this will be the year that you let go of it. Don’t stop fighting the good fight. Occupy (keep doing God’s will) until He comes. Be faithful to the end, and you will receive a crown of life.

God bless you, dear Brothers and Sisters. Thank you for taking the time to read my posts. May you have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving!
