2015 Survey Series – The Results & The Prize

For the past several months, many of you faithfully voted each week in our survey series of top cover songs. A “cover” song, for the purposes of these surveys, was considered to be a song recorded by a major Southern Gospel group that was originally popularized by another group OR an older standard. (We did allow a modern recording of “Jesus Is Coming Soon” by the Inspirations, since all the vocalists on the newer version weren’t in the group when they first popularized it.)

Here’s the Top Ten:
When They Ring The Bells Of Heaven – Greater Vision
Sweet Beulah Land – Gaither Vocal Band
Victory In Jesus – Gold City
Sheltered In The Arms Of God
Happy Rhythm – Old Friends
Because He Lives – Triumphant
The Unseen Hand – Voices Won
Jesus Is Coming Soon – Inspirations
Who Am I – Perrys
The Lighthouse – Mike Bowling

The choices became more difficult as the series progressed. Ultimately, the Perrys prevailed with their version of “Who Am I,” a Happy Goodman’s classic written by Rusty Goodman.

In a perfect world, I could present all of our readers with a finished CD of the Top Ten songs you helped us select, but there is quite a bit of legal paperwork and fees involved with that.

Instead, we’re giving you the next best thing: FREE ARTWORK!

Feel free to print out our artwork below, secure your own legal copies of all the songs, and make your own CD!

To download the three art files below, simply right-click the images below and “save as” (or whatever your particular browser calls it).

I want to add a special word of THANKS to Wavemakers Interactive (AKA Kyle Boreing) for stepping up to do the graphic design on short notice.

Kyle needs to add an S to Voice-it’s Voices Won, not Voice Won. Otherwise, fantastic!

That was my fault. I left the S off when I sent him all the information.

I also put a comma after 6 instead of a period in the credits. Good ol’ copy and paste! Time to issue a product recall and replacement, DBM….

If you want to go to the trouble to fix it, I’ll happily go to the trouble to upload the replacement art. :)
