Last Week’s Happenings

  • Taranda Greene announced she is engaged to Landon Beene during the latest episode of On The Couch With Fouch, laughingly admitting her name will be soon be “Mrs. Greene Beene.”
  • Meanwhile, on her Facebook page, Taranda Greene announced she is recording a CD with former Avalon member Jody McBrayer and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound’s most recent alumnus, Doug Anderson. These three individuals have no plans to discontinue their respective solo careers, but fans can expect to see the as yet un-named trio at a few concert events in the future.
  • Ernie Haase announced that Tyler Vestal has replaced Wayne Haun as the piano player for Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Vestal is the second former member of Beyond The Ashes to join EH&SS this year. Haun still plans to appear at some EH&SS events going forward, but he needed to withdraw from full-time travel due to his other obligations.
  • In the wake of the departure of Dustin Doyle and Tyler Vestal, Anthony Facello announced he will be performing solo dates going forward. A new lineup of Facello’s group, Beyond The Ashes, will also appear at a few dates during the coming months under a re-branded name, Beyond The Ashes & Friends.

The Greene/Beene engagement is several months old. TaRanda had first announced it on her Facebook page in, I want to say, April.

This particular mention of Taranda’s engagement happened in a video that was first published last week.

That’s why it’s listed here under Last Week’s Happenings. That section is simply a summary of items from the previous week that I thought might be interesting enough to pass on to readers. I’m not claiming everything is fresh news. In fact, almost none of it is. Most everything I report is a few days old by the time it shows up in Last Week’s Happenings.

Landon was previously married to Aundrea Maciel. Did she pass away?

Well forgive me, but the way everyone is talking about this, you’d think she never existed. I won’t speculate further though, at least not publicly.

        • Reply September 10, 17:29 David Bruce Murray Author

There’s no effort on my part to try to treat his first wife as if she never existed. I didn’t even know he’d been married previously.

Sadly, Christians divorce and remarry. It’s not God’s plan, but it happens.

Either way, there’s no conspiracy here to pretend the first marriage never happened. The News Nuggets feature is simply a summary of things I noticed that happened last week.

Sorry David, my comment wasn’t at all directed at you or the site. I meant Taranda and Landon’s publicity. I’m not blaming you for simply noting the announcement. They’re the ones responsible for how it gets worded.

          • September 10, 23:45 Jackie

Well I find yankeegospelgirl’s comments puzzling. As David said, divorce happens even among Christians. But I have never personally heard an ex-spouse mentioned in a subsequent engagement announcement. It would seem strange to me if the ex were mentioned. I’m sure those who are close to the couple know all about the circumstances. To the rest of the folks it would only be gossip fodder.

Another look at Thomas Nalley with Gold City, this time with the “reunion lineup” at Silver Dollar City. He stepped in when Jay Parrack wasn’t able to make it to soundcheck. Very cool!

Like I mentioned before on one of your videos, shades of Jay Parrack shine through when this man sings. Very cool stuff indeed. I must needs go hear them when I have the chance.

The dates listed here are distribution dates when music will officially be available through retail and/or online outlets. Some artists may sell their recordings sooner at their concert events or in their own online stores. At this point, Daywind Records has failed to provide us with any specific information with regards to the release date of the Wilburn & Wilburn CD, but I will update the title in next week’s News Nuggets.
