2015 Survey Series: The Lighthouse – Results Posted

Voting has ended. Results are posted below.
1. Kingdom Heirs – 0 votes
2. Golden Covenant – 1 vote
3. Gene McDonald – 1 vote
4. Liberty Quartet – 6 votes
5. Mike Bowling – 7 votes

Please note: Because this series is focusing on “covers” or “remakes” of classic songs, no Happy Goodmans or Hinsons recordings of “The Lighthouse” were included for your consideration.

In the audio file attached to this post, you will hear five segments from recordings of “The Lighthouse.” Select your favorite and respond with a comment to cast your vote. Valid responses are 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. You may select only one version as your favorite. Vote only once. This poll will close on Sunday, July 26.

When the survey is all over later this year, there will be a nice little surprise for our readers courtesy of our good friends at b.creative. If you’re not already familiar with b.creative, check out some of the projects this company has worked on in the past by clicking HERE.

    3 is my vote.

Was looking for something different here, arrangement, key change or something. 5 sounds like a well known group.

I really didn’t like any of these. #3 was close, but I thought the solo part of #4 was slightly better. #5 was oversung – too much “showing off” by the soloist.

I was actually hoping you would utilize the Stamps 1972 rendition, which blows any other rendition out of the water. IMHO. :-)

I have to stick with the Stamps, even though I also strongly prefer the “Something Special” album version.
