Brian Free & Assurance – Acappella

4 1/2 Stars

The CD is short, so it’s only fair to write a short review. Acappella has nine tracks and clocks in with less than thirty minutes of total running time. The quality of the singing and the arrangements on this recording make up for any potential complaints from the bean counters, though. It’s the closest I’ve heard a group come to the quality of Gold City’s Acapella Gold. In fact, “Won’t It Be Wonderful There” and the medley are very similar the same arrangements used by Gold City. To spice things up a bit, Brian Free & Assurance step outside the Southern Gospel box with songs originally recorded by 4Him, Jerome Olds and a Ricky Free original.

David, do you think it is better than The Ball Brothers Vocalized cd, I mean quality wise?
