Rating: 3 Stars

Label: Hills Creek Music Group
Producer: Nick Bruno (with Scott Leduc producing Lead Vocals and Robbie Hiner co-producing Background Vocals)
Website: www.jackieleduc.com

Song Titles: “Not Myself These Days,” “When He Sees Me,” “Deliver Me From Myself,” “Everything’s A Possibility,” “I Surrender,” “Little Miss Understanding,” “Train Up This Child,” “Heart To Heart,” “Take Time To Pray,” and “I Will Trust You Lord”

Jackie LeDuc’s vocals are adequate and the production quality on I Surrender is very good, though not particularly unique. The musicians include some of Nashville’s finest like Steve Brewster, Gary Lunn, and Tom Hemby. The song selection leaves a bit to be desired, though. Aside from a novelty song titled “Little Miss Understanding,” there’s just nothing here that’s particularly memorable. “Little Miss Understanding” is the only cut where LeDuc sounds completely relaxed with her delivery. The overall style is late 1980s/early 1990s pop in the vein of Amy Grant and Twila Paris, but blander. Most songs have writer and publisher info listed, but two songs ask you to visit LeDuc’s website “for details.” I visited the site and could find nothing about these two particular songs…odd.
