RATING: 4 1/2 Stars

Label: America Christian Artists
Producer: Tim Greene
Song Titles: “God Is A Good God,” “When I Knelt,” “Yes Oh Yes,” “God Did,” “They Found Him,” “Alleluia,” “The Blood Covered It All,” “March Through The Water,” “Without The Cross,” and “I Can’t Even Walk”

God Is A Good God kicks off with the slow groove title track, followed by a remake of one of the Greene‘s older hits, “When I Knelt The Blood Fell.” The CD’s first uptempo track is “Yes Oh Yes,” a fun number that should go over great in concert either as an opening song or one to wake up the crowd midway through a set. The next song should be “God Did,” according to the packaging, but it’s actually “Without The Cross.” The rest of the songs are also out of order. Two other notable remakes included on God Is A Good God are “The Blood Covered It All” featuring Taranda Greene and “I Can’t Even Walk” featuring Tony Greene. My favorite track is “March Through The Water,” another invigorating arrangement that engages the listener. Another highlight is “Alleluia,” which features the group’s piano player on the vocal.

The Greenes have a great sounding product in God Is A Good God. Including a few familiar songs with new selections makes sense for this group, because their audience tends to expect a mixture of old and new. It would be nice if the person doing the mastering got together with the person doing the artwork next time so the songs would be in the same order, but that’s a relatively minor complaint.
